How Brevio compares to GoldFynch, Logikcull, CaseIntel and Hintyr.
No tool wins every row — so here's the honest version, sourced from each vendor's public site. Brevio's bet: the deepest court-ready defensibility at the small-firm price, even where newer tools out-demo us on a few AI features today.

02Why Brevio
Ten things no competitor at $99–$399 ships.
This is the substrate that matters when a production has to be defended, not just delivered.
TAR with defensibility metrics
Technology-assisted review with control sets and Grossman-Cormack recall/precision/richness — the numbers you cite when the methodology is challenged.
Attorney-directed AI scoring
AI suggestions live in a separate layer from final coding, so a rejected suggestion stays rejected even after re-scoring — the AI suggests, you commit. Aligned with how the Feb 2026 SDNY ruling treats AI-assisted privilege.
Tamper-evident Defensibility Report
Every production ships with a SHA-256-verified, frozen chain-of-custody report — the artifact you hand opposing counsel so the fight is about documents, not process.
Two-stage privilege quarantine
Privileged material is caught at collection and re-checked by AI before it can ever reach a production.
Full deposition workflow
Parse Veritext PDFs and TXT transcripts into page-line-indexed records, generate page-line summaries, and auto-link exhibits with a confirm/reject step.
Narrative workspace
Build a case theory with an evidence-backed timeline and page:line deposition citations.
Communication network graph
See who talked to whom across the collection — surface the custodians and threads that matter.
PST/OST extraction
Ingest raw Outlook archives through an isolated worker queue — no manual mailbox export.
Legal holds with signed acknowledgment
Issue holds and prove custodians received and acknowledged them — non-optional for any matter under a preservation duty.
Atomic Bates numbering
Multiple prefix sequences per matter with no skipped or overlapping numbers, guaranteed under concurrent production.
03Where we're catching up
The features competitors do better than us today.
We'd rather you hear it from us. These are real gaps, with the issue numbers we're tracking them under.
Audio & video transcription
Hintyr and Logikcull (subscription) transcribe media today; Brevio's is on the near-term roadmap (issue #495).
Tabular bulk-AI extraction grid
The 2026 demo standard — a spreadsheet of AI-extracted fields across documents. On our roadmap (issue #490).
Multi-monitor pop-out viewer
GoldFynch's most-requested fix and a universal small-firm want. Coming soon (issue #491).
No-credit-card free trial
CaseIntel (14-day) and GoldFynch (90-day) let you start without a card; our self-serve trial mechanic is being finalized (issues #487/#500).
04The field
Who each competitor is, in their own lane.
An AI-agent-first platform (opposition-brief analyzer, contract redlining, RAG chat, deposition-prep automation) launched in early 2026. Publishes pricing and offers a 14-day no-card trial. Strong fit for brief- and contract-heavy practices that staff at least two people — entry is a 2-seat minimum.
A new agentic-AI-first entrant with context-aware redaction, image/audio/video analysis, and a client portal. Sharp, modern AI experience. Its own site lists legal holds as a gap and SOC 2 as in progress; TAR is 1.0 only, and the 1 GB Growth tier is tight for a real matter.
The transparent, bootstrapped budget incumbent: $27/mo for 3 GB, unlimited users, and the longest free trial in the space (90 days, no card). It publicly argues AI is overkill for small firms — so there is no TAR, AI search, redaction AI, or native cloud collection, and a single-screen viewer is its most-cited complaint.
The acquired-but-still-shipping incumbent (Reveal portfolio). Shipped ASK GenAI and native Onna Slack/Teams/Workspace collection in 2026. But its pricing page now redirects to a sales call, ShareSafe still forces recipients to create accounts, and advanced AI like CAL lives in Reveal proper, not Logikcull.
